Welcome to the Historic Alexandre Mouton House!
We hope you will take a quick tour of our website but, more importantly, we hope you'll stop by to visit downtown Lafayette's historic landmark. The Alexandre Mouton House was constructed in the early 19th Century as the "maison dimanche'(Sunday House) of Jean Mouton, the founder of Lafayette. Later it was the house of Lafayette's first democratic governor, after whom the house is currently named: Alexandre Mouton!
