The Alexandre Mouton House was constructed in the early 19th Century as the "maison dimanche'(Sunday House) of Jean Mouton, the founder of Lafayette. Later it was the house of Lafayette's first democratic governor, after whom the house is currently named: Alexandre Mouton!
